Ping can be said is a way to REPORT web / blog that we update the existing search engines, including Google, Yahoo and Amazon.
So after a webmaster / blogger finished updating the website / blog for example, inserting a new article then the ping should be made to notify search engines that our site has been updated.
So that our website or in particular a new article is inserted can be contained in  the search engines and can be viewed by visitors while do a search word associated with our website or article earlier. Ping can be said to be  "conversation" between webmasters and search engines like Google.
